  1. i really like the pictures that you drew they really look realistic.I also like how you gave the little details in the shirt of the 2 picture or like in the 1 picture the shadow of her face that really looks good.I think that you did a good job on drawing the pictures

  2. Well Marlene, on Rihanna’s picture you forgot to draw the shadow leading from her nose to her eyes. Also you forgot that the hair could have been done easily, all you had to do is draw squiggly lines! Beside the rest was fantastic, I purposely liked the eyelashes, they look realistic. But, another thing that concerns me is the fact that her lips aren’t that thick from the top, you forgot the midtones on the bottom of the top lip. The bottom could have used some burn and dome doge tools to make it seem like there is light pointing to her face. Beside everything you did a pretty good job on Rihanna!
Now going to the bottom picture, what really got my attention is her hand and eyes you did an extremely fascinating job there! I myself have worked on tutorials that have involved hands and I could never create a good hand. I have worked on eye tutorials but they never came out the same as the picture I was drawing. So, I always end up making other eyes, instead. What concerns me is that the picture is nice and all but it doesn’t have the shape of the face and the shadows of the hair. THE HAIR! What really bothers me is that the hair isn’t brown it’s black, you should have really thought of that!

  4. Marlene Robles , as I was looking at your drawings It seems to me that Rihanna is one of your favorite pop music artist, and you chose to work with her latest album cover shoot. I can see you’re a very passionate drawer , and you give some dedication to your art work. I can notice the compare and contrast of your drawing and her cover shoot. The fact that you did a great job with her eyelashes, eyebrows and her head shape, really stood out for a drawing on the computer. You applied the perfect skin tone for Rihanna, and the shadows that you also applied on your drawing. Congratulations with this drawing of yours, it is indeed very similar to the original.

With your second drawing , i noticed that you worked more with her hair, which I would of liked it for you to have done this to the drawing of Rihanna. You actually did very good with this one too , I can see you know how to deal with colors and balance. Applying a different hair color to your drawing, than the original, did change the models appearnce but yet it still looks nice. You also knew how to draw her in pose, as leaning her neck to her shoulder. The only deatail I personally would of done to this, is to have added like a shadow beneath her jaw, so her neck can stand out from her body. Other than that I really liked both of your drawings.

  5. Firstly, I like the picture of rihanna because the original photo shows a good image with her eyes closed. I also liked the fact that it was a closed up picture and that gives her more room to paint the face, eyes, and hair. I really like the way you did rihannas eyelashes they look really big and real just like the original picture. I personally think you should have worked more on the chin. Also I did notice that in the drawing picture u did rihannas lips thicker than they were in the original one. I liked it but I think you could of work more on it. The second picture was my favorite because I like the way you drew her eyebrows and her hair they look just like the original picture but on the painting you drew her hair brown & in the original picture it was black. I also liked the way u did the whole image and not only her face and u actually included the leopard shirt. I also do like the eyelashes on this image as well because they look clearly like the original one. I think u did a great job and I liked your pictures because they weren’t blurry or anything.

  6. Hey Marlene, well i like your first image of Rihannna. You can tell you got the outline of the original picture first and then painted it in. I like the colors you used it really looks like her real album cover. I got to say though, i think you could have done a better with her lips because they look a little bit crooked, maby you could have outlined them first with a darker shaade of the red and then colored in the actual red, you know just as how one would do in real life with real lips. But overall you did a very nice job with it and i can tell by looking at some of your other work, you have alot of talent girl. On the second image, i like how it looks exactly the same but in a cartoonized way. I think you need to work a little more on your shading though. because if you would have used different shads for the body parts, its would have added more detail to the picture. For example on the neck, you can not really tell the difference from the neck and her actual face beacuse you didnt mark her jaw line with a darker shade. But it looks good still. Good Job! :)

  7. I think that both portraits look adequate and adequate in a way since they could have been way better. For example, there are no shadows or highlights on both of the portraits and you chose quite difficult pictures like Rihanna who is mostly made up of shadows and very few highlights which make the image look good and bold. However you did not manage to do that correctly since it is made from just the face colors with no attention to detail of the highlights and just some of the shadows that you did were the obvious ones but if you did not manage to finish the portrait then disregard everything I just mentioned since you were on the right path and just needed to add a few more details to make it look more realistic such as the shadows and highlights. Furthermore, in your second post I can see that the highlights and shadows just were on the shirt which makes look alike of that of the original image because with the difference in colors it gives the allusion of the wrinkles on the shirt. In addition, the hair looks outstanding the way it was painted. However, it would have been better if you would have added some shadows and highlights to make it look more realistic and not just a solid color even though it looks fantastic if you would not have posted the before and after images.
Overall, it looks good and I think that if you would have continued and finished them I think the paintings would have come looking astonishing since you have the potential to create an awesome painting. I can’t wait to see how your self-portrait will come out since you are one of the few people who actually seem to have the skill of knowing how to paint in Photoshop.

  8. Marlene Robles,
To start I will say that you did an amazing job with the Rihanna drawing. You did very well with choose the right skin tone as well as her lip color. I must admit I love how her eyelashes and nose came out! I was trying to get her eyelashes to look good but they ended up looking like um a branch from a tree, not cute at all… but yours are great, you’ve got to teach me how to them, so they’ll come out cute! And I must say something about what Neon Tech, I mean really it’s a good drawing and I think that He’s just jealous and decided to focus on the “negative”, it’s a good drawing and don’t let others bring you down. Anyways back to your work, your second drawing, I’m not sure who the lady is but your drawing came out really good, I really like it. I especially like eyes, eyebrows, and lips, those features are really difficult to draw but you seem to have mastered a technique to do so, good job! I also like how her hand came out, it looks really good. Lastly I love her shirt, I mean if I say that shirt I’d buy it! Both your drawings came out real good and you seem to have mastered your own techniques to get good facial characteristics and found ways to simple thing like her clothes look really cute.
Now lets move, let us speak about your page… well Miss Marlene I think your page is really cute and its simply but its not like boring simply its cute simply, you know? Like for example when you wear jeans black vans and a black shirt to simply match the black, but you add little purple bag, its really cute and yet simply. I also want to congratulate on your organization skills, I noticed your page is very clean and organized, unlike my page its totally well lets not speak of that.
Overall Marlene I think you’ve got great skills and you work very neatly so good job!:D

  9. Marlen, I think your Rihanna picture came out amazing. It came out really realistic and detailed. It looks very similar to the original picture. You also did a good job with the shading and her eyelashes. I also think you did a good job with her skin tone, it looks great. However, I think you could have gotten a little more detailed with her hair to make it look more real. But overall, good job with Rihanna!

For your bottom picture I think you did a good job too. It’s more detailed than your Rihanna drawing. I really like the detailing. I especially like the detailing on her shirt. You got all the colors good. Her hair and very pretty and detailed which you should have done with Rihanna’s. her eyes also look very pretty and her eyelashes as well.

  10. Hey Marlene! Nice choice of photos here. The first drawing of yours I really like! I could tell that you did a really good job on drawing the outlines for both faces. For you drawing of Rihanna I like how you drew her nose. You made her nose look real and with the help of shading you mastered on drawing noses realistically. What you could have done better was work more on the hair, eyebrows and on the shoulder and their effects. On the eyebrows you should have made them look more realistically instead of them looking like they were spray painted on. Don’t get me wrong I think you did an awesome job on this drawing but with little touches up here and there you would have mastered this one!
For the second photo the first thing that I notice is the hand. You made it look really real. As for the outline you did really well and the details look exactly like the original photo. You really should have done the hair black, but it looks nice with the brown hair that you did, I like how you did the hair. I can tell that you took time on making it look realistically as possible. As for the nose, eyes and chin I think you could have done a way better job! Comparing it to the Rihanna drawing you did it seems to me that you have the potential to draw those parts well, but it didn’t show on your second drawing. As for the chin here you should have done some shadowing or something so it wouldn’t look like she has no jaw. But other then that good job you did a great job on both drawings and you have talent for drawing on Photoshop! As for your blogger spot it seems really organized and you know how to work with the website. Good job & keep up the good work!

  11. Marlene Robles, personally I think these two drawings are among the best of this class. You really put the effort of making them look as the original ones. The Rihanna picture is really good is almost perfect, just add a little shadow on her nose and the eyes and it will be perfect! The second painting is really good. I especially like the hair of the painting. It looks really detail and for me to do the hair is hard and it takes a lot of time. But again as the first one put some shadows because shadows are what make it seem real. Put a little shadow on the left side of her face and it will look amazing! Well Marlene you did a really good job on your paintings keep up the good work and have a nice day!
